I managed to catch the spectacular fireworks display last night that was part of the Auckland Anniversary Day celebrations. This was taken from Westhaven marina - I didn't get myself into a very good position as the boats in the foreground got in the way a bit (I thought the fireworks would be higher!).

Spring in the Auckland Domain
The Auckland Domain is the city's oldest park and is spacious and diverse. The 75 hectare park has been developed around the cone of an extinct volcano. New Zealand is full of volcanoes, mostly extinct but Mount Ruapehu still erupts occasionally.
